Preschool Art

Ages 4-5

Must be toilet independent

Through lessons that allow students to imagine, discover and experiment, our Preschool Art class focuses on cognitive development, fine motor skills, enhancing art language and literacy, and supporting social and emotional skills. The pre-school class promotes independence, verbal and non-verbal expressions of ideas and feelings, and supports the preschool aged child’s eagerness to learn. With an emphasis on the five senses, our preschool classes are an introduction to the art making process. A wide variety of mediums, processes, artists and tools are explored in preparation for elementary art, in a fun, age-appropriate setting.

WHAT PARENTS ARE SAYING

Art with Ms. James is without a doubt the highlight of my daughter’s week. Each class she explores new mediums, learns a noteworthy artist, and deepens her understanding of the basics-lines, color, composition, and more. No worksheets or coloring pages here…Ms. James works with her students on a single piece for several weeks, ensuring their work is something to be framed and treasured for years to come.”
